2150 Bluewater: These boats are designed to handle some of the heaviest seas on the East Coast. Built super tough and with a 24 degree deadrise, these boats are perfect for the rough water in Montauk and locations otherwise. With Full bolsters around the boat and a clear deck, this boat is perfect for snag free flyfishing the Northeast.
Hewes LT20: These boats have been tested for over 30 years! At 20 ft. it's the best boat for the northeast flats. Shallow enough to sight fish in 9 inches of water and stable enough to fish the rips and structure if the flats aren't cooperating
Capt. Bryan Goulart provides all the necessary flies / tackle gear for charters. I use only the top name brands for fishing gear: Rise Fishing Co., Tibor, Sage, G.Loomis, St. Croix and Shimano just to name a few. You are welcome to bring your own gear as well. I always encourage people to bring their own flies as you never know when something will decide to work. I normally have 2 setups per person on the boat. One 9/10 wt with an intermediate line and a 10 wt with a 400-450 grain sinking line for fly fishing inshore. For offshore 12-15 wt rods are recommended. A good choice for the flats are 7-8 wt rod with floating line.
A good pair of polarized sungalsses are key to a good fishing experience. Sun block and UPF protective clothing are a good idea as well. It gets chilly out on the water so be sure to pack a jacket have foul weather gear with you as well. Please bring your own refreshments and snacks.
